Once the project proposals have been received in the Campus of Ourense Research Support Office, these will be forwarded twice a year to the Selection Committee in order to value the eligibility of the projects.
The periods for the evaluation cycle of the projects are: from January to June and from July to December.
The Selection Committee will be made up of the Vice Chancellor of the Campus of Ourense, the head of the Water Campus Research Area, the Innovation Technician for the Campus of Ourense and the Head of the Campus of Ourense Research Support Office. This Committee may defer to the Executive Committees of Clusters 1 and 2 of the Water Campus regarding the eligibility process.
The Selection Committee will rank the submissions into one of three categories:
- Proposals that fail to comply with the eligibility criteria. The Committee will file a report of the proposals in this category to the Vice Chancellor of the Campus of Ourense who will then proceed to inform the applicants of the rejection, detailing the reasons.
- Proposals that fail to comply with the eligibility criteria but are thematically similar to other proposals submitted during this or previous calls. For these projects the Committee will file a report to the Vice Chancellor who will then proceed to call the researchers to a meeting in order to merge both proposals into one single project. This proposal will be redrafted and resubmitted to the Campus of Ourense Research Support Office.
- Proposals that comply with the eligibility criteria. These proposals will be forwarded to the corresponding Cluster who will then draft a report on the quality of the proposal to be sent to the researchers responsible in order to apply any changes deemed necessary. Once the proposal has been improved, the researcher responsible will resubmit it to the Campus of Ourense Research Support Office for assessment by the Steering Committee of the Water Campus Clusters. Further on, the research team involved will be called to a meeting to draw up the funding strategy for the IPICA institutional project.
Resolution and notification
The Vice Chancellor of the Campus of Ourense will notify by reasoned submission of the decision taken by the Selection Committee or by the Cluster Steering Committee as appropriate depending upon the nature of the proposal.
Those projects which are not selected for the IPICA Programme during either the first or the second phase may be resubmitted for reassessment provided that the new proposal takes into account the reasons for rejection contained in the notification letter issued by the Vice Chancellor of the Campus of Ourense.
The teams selected for the Programme must accept to take part in the final phase in writing. Failure to do so will be considered a breach of this requisite.
