Prevention and preparation in the event of a risk of flooding and droughts along the International Minho and Lima River Basin Area.
The aim of the RISC Minho and Lima project is to prevent and prepare the international Minho Lima river basin in the event of extreme weather phenomena in order to improve the management of the natural resources in the face of climate change.
The main goal is, therefore, to help improve understanding of the international Minho and Lima River Basin Area based on the single-basin principle contained in Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council dated 23 October 2000, establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy regarding international river-basins and single water management plans.
The Rivers Minho and Sil Water Authority, the Portuguese Environment Agency, the University of Vigo and the University of Porto.
These are the proposal which are made by the Water Campus researchers, which may be chosen to be institutional projects according to the IPICA Programme.
